I am so excited to be a part of my very first iNSD BLOG TRAIN!!!!

Since the theme this year is "Vintage" and the beautiful kit "Timeless" was made by our very own SM Team, we were asked to share a little story about something we cherish…

Here is my story!

One of the sweetest things my hubby has ever done was Valentine's Day 2006. In January he had come home from a long business trip in China and had purchased a few sweet things for all of us. But it wasn't until February 14^th that he handed me a small box. I opened it and in it was the most beautiful pink pearl necklace I had ever seen. He had it made special for me while he was in China. He hand-picked the pearls and they made it right there for him. I was shocked that he had hidden it away just to give it to me on Valentine 's Day. It was my most memorable Valentine 's Day to date!

Britt has a new pack of fun little flowers and leaves. It is called "Jellies: Blooms". They are so stinkin' cute you are going to want to get these for your stash! She has also created some fantastic original "doodlie-do borders". You get a set of 8, approx. 12x12 in size. She doodled each border by hand, so these are one of a kind doodles! The perfect finishing touch to any layout!

WOW!! I have been so bad about posting this month!!! Please forgive me as we are working so hard on our adoption right now. I have made 60+ pairs of Ladybug Earrings to sell for our fundraiser along with a 104 page "Something Heavenly" cookbook!! We are in the final part and need to raise $5,100 for our daughters Orphanage Donation". I am so flippin' excited to tell you the FANTASTIC news...I applied to be a CT (Creative Team Member) for my absolutely FAVORITE designer Britt-ish Designs and I heard the news just last night!!!! There were 90 applicants and she did have a very difficult time making a decision. There is just NO way you can make everyone happy or accept everyone!! However, she did choose me to be a guest Britt Girl and I am so honored and EXCITED!!! I will be her guest for the month of December. Can you believe it!!!! Here are my latest LO's for this week!!! I am on page 42 of my Disney Scrapbook and I am only on day ONE!!! I am going to be paying more for my albume than I did for my plane ticket to get there!!! LOL
I hope you are all enjoying your summer, we sure are. My hubby and son just got home from a 5 day 50 mile canoe trip down the Clark Fork River and man were they grubby!!! Me and our youngest daughter went to visit family and had a great time. We did some shopping, playing at the lake, and chillaxin'! It is nice to be back home, but now its laundry, house cleaning and getting ready for our trip to the Ocean!!!! I can't wait...the ocean is my favorite place to be:)

I have completed another Speed Scrap at Scrap Matter and will post it, but first I have a little news to share...I am currently working in a cookbook to sell. Hopefully, it will help us considerable with funds for our adoption process. Every single recipe is simple to make and absolutely DELICIOUS!!!! As promised!!!! I finally have my store up and ready to go.
The name we chose was "FANATICAL".
My husband and I thought this was a PERFECT name for my store considering the reason I am starting it. By the dictionary definition "Fanatical" means ~ Marked by excessive enthusiasm for and intense devotion to a cause or idea!

We have started the process of a adopting a little girl from China. Our little girl has been tugging on our heart strings for many years. I love to make jewelry, so we thought what a great opportunity to make money for our adoption. All the money earned will go directly in to our adoption fund to bring our little girl home.

I hope you can stop by and take a look, you never know, maybe you will find just what you are looking for:) I will continue to add new items, so check back often.

I have just started a store at Etsy!!!! I am so excited! You are going to LOVE the store name, but I will keep that a secret until I finish getting it all set up. The money that I make from it will be for our adoption process. I am going to be selling handmade jewelry. For all of you who were wondering how the Father Daughter Dance went last night...it was FABULOUS again this year. Here is a LO I did of the two of them in their outfits (*tear*) before the dance. She was beautiful!!!! Not to mention looking like a 5th grader not a third grader!!!

I am so sorry I have not posted in a while, life sure does get busy fast! My husband and I have just started the process of adopting a little girl from China. Here is my LO completed for the ADSR # 8 challenge!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE this kit "Blossoms and Butterflies" re-visited by Brenda Smith Designs. The challenge was to scraplift a LO you have always wanted to from another person in a gallery. Then we had to add a star and the word "DREAM" somewhere. The LO I chose to scraplift was one from Enchanted Studio Scraps, because I loved the way she clustered her elements and then used just one picture. I first knew Christelle from GDS. A place where we do challenges together in an online community and her LO were always so beautiful and FUN. Now we are on a CT together...she is sooooo sweet!!! Christelle just received Scrapper of the Month too at GDS, everyone is always saying that she leaves such sweet, positive comments, and she does!!! She has a heart of GOLD! Thank you Christelle:)

Lisa awarded me these two friendship awards!!! Here is what she said...

Thank you Lisa!!! I was already digitally scrapbooking for a year, but not online. Lisa got me hooked in September of '08 and I have gotten over 200 LO completed since then!!! I couldn't believe how much FUN these digital scrapbooking challenges could be!!! Lisa is a very patient teacher and a FABULOUS best friend.

You know the kind...you can be in the same room together and not speak, but you know exactly what each other is thinking. The BEST kind!!!

I actually just read that as of LO #6 we are half way finished!!!! I can't believe it. I have already learned so much form this race!!

This one had to be scrap lifted from your partner and the changed vertically or horizontally, then put at a 45 degree angle.

I have had the most amazing morning today and I wanted to share it with you. I met my husband's cousin's wife, Laura!!! It is a very long story, but I have been with my husband for almost 17 years now and have not met any of his cousins (he only has three, but still they are family)!!! Well, it just so happens that Mike's Aunt Penny e-mailed me a link to this blog that is helping Laura and her husband, Matt with advertising her little hats. They are wanting to adopt siblings from Asia and she has been knitting these absolutely precious baby hats, she also makes hats for the entire family and little booties. She makes them custom to your needs and all the money she makes goes directly in to her adoption fund. One of the reasons I am posting a link to the blog is because right now she is doing a drawing. If you post a comment, you go in to the drawing for a FREE hat!! The other reason is because, it just bring such joy to my heart to know that more of God's little children will have such an amazing home and new parents to love and care for them. I am so thrilled for both of them and I want to help out any way I can, so I will keep the link here on the side of my blog for as long as she needs it here. That is like an oxymoron, hu? LOL Anyway, it is happy for me because it is a holiday and I finished my ADSR #5 Challenge!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was another emotional one for me. The LO could not contain any photos, but needed 3 empty frames. The first memory that came to mind for me was my baby Natasha. I didn't have any pictures of her. She was here for such a short time, but the memory of her is like yesterday. It was a really wonderful challenge to complete. Enjoy

Good Morning everyone, just a quick post today. I have lots to do, but wanted to get this LO posted. YaYaYa I passed!!! This was a very stressful challenge for me. The name of it was Art & Soul and we were required to do a very artsy LO and then journal from the heart, some wisdom to our children, something in my life that I have learned from...NOT my strong point! Thanks to my "Sisterfriend", I did it! She is an amazing writer and helped me get my LO into proper sentence structure!!! Thanks Debi:) I also actually got a message from the woman who posted the challenge and she said I nail the challenge, that was a relief! Whew!!!Ok, here it is...

reads:To my three beautiful children, The song "Slow Fade" by Casting Crowns really touches me because of what I have learned from my past experiences. We should always be careful what we see, say, and do in our lives. List: This was truly a challenge for me! The 3 things I add were the paint splatter, paint brush and squiggle. However, I also change the color pictures to black and white then cut and pasted their original eye color, so they stood out. I hope you can see the effect. Then the journaling is lyrics from a song that touches me along with wisdom from my experiences I want them to learn from.

ADSR Challenge #2 is FINISHED!!!!!

Her is our second challenge completed:) YAHOOO!!!! It was an "intersection" challenge, so we both had to work on just one layout and then submit it. We did ours in layers, so I chose the pictures and papers. E-mailed the LO to Lisa and she added the embellishments and alpha title. Back to me and I finished with the journaling and dates. It really was a fun challenge, better than I thought it would be. I expected it to be much harder. Hope you like it:)

Hello Eveyone and Happy 2009!

I wanted to let you all know the FIRST ADSR challenge has been posted and here is my LO from it:) I learned how to make my photo's look as thought they were torn!!! Not many finished yet...but we had a WONDERFUL Christmas! We even mangaed to catch a movie too on Christmas Day...Marley & Me. If you love animals at all DON'T GO!!! You will bawl like a baby. The theater was packed and there wasn't a dry eye in the place! We all came home and hugged Duchess. *sniff sniff*

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Here is our family Christmas card this year...we were on a family vacation to California this summer and I just love this picture of all of us! We wish you a holiday filled with LOVE, LAUGHTER, HEALTH and many BLESSINGS in the New Year to come.

I cannot even believe that there is only 4 more days until Christmas!!!! We have been so busy this year. The kids got out of school 2 days early this year because if record snow fall. It dumped 2 plus feet of snow in 24 hours and is still snowing off and on! Yippy, we love snow:), well, unless we have to drive some where or shovel! Since we have been inside so much...I have made 3 batches of our caramels, 1 batch of secret fudge, and several batches of cookies:) We will be delivering our treat tray to our friends and neighbors today. We have or Christmas program and church today first, some sledding of course, and then we will be visiting our neighbors. My husband and I even managed to Celebrate or 14th Wedding Anniversary! It was a horrible day to go anywhere, but we did manage to slip in lunch at our favorite Thai restaurant. It is hard to do much with our anniversary so close to Christmas, so I think we will be changing that in the near future;) I better stop rambling and get going.

A Different Kind of Christmas Poem

This poem caught my attention today and I wanted to post it for all of you to read. We need to pray for our service men and woman, especially during the holiday season. Thank You!

As I sit in my warm, safe home I am blessed by all the young men and women serving our country while I reap the blessings! They are a true gift here at Christmas! May we never forget them in our hearts and in our prayers!

The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light, I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight. My wife was asleep, her head on my chest, My daughter beside me, angelic in rest. Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white, Transforming the yard to a winter delight.

The sparkling lights in the tree I believe, Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve. My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep, Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep. In perfect contentment, or so it would seem, So I slumbered, perhaps I started to dream.

The sound wasn't loud, and it wasn't too near, But I opened my eyes when it tickled my ear. Perhaps just a cough, I didn't quite know, Then the sure sound of footsteps outside in the snow. My soul gave a tremble, I struggled to hear, And I crept to the door just to see who was near.

Standing out in the cold and the dark of the night, A lone figure stood, his face weary and tight. A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old, Perhaps a Marine, huddled here in the cold. Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled, Standing watch over me, and my wife and my child.

'What are you doing?' I asked without fear, 'Come in this moment, it's freezing out here! Put down your pack, brush the snow from your sleeve, You should be at home on a cold Christmas Eve!' For barely a moment I saw his eyes shift, Away from the cold and the snow blown in drifts.
To the window that danced with a warm fire's light Then he sighed and he said 'Its really all right, I'm out here by choice. I'm here every night.' 'It's my duty to stand at the front of the line, That separates you from the darkest of times.

No one had to ask or beg or implore me, I'm proud to stand here like my fathers before me. My Gramps died at 'Pearl on a day in December,' Then he sighed, 'That's a Christmas 'Gram always remembers.' My dad stood his watch in the jungles of 'Nam', And now it is my turn and so, here I am.

I've not seen my own son in more than a while, But my wife sends me pictures, he's sure got her smile. Then he bent and he carefully pulled from his bag, The red, white, and blue... an American flag. I can live through the cold and the being alone, Away from my family, my house and my home.

I can stand at my post through the rain and the sleet, I can sleep in a foxhole with little to eat. I can carry the weight of killing another, Or lay down my life with my sister and brother.. Who stand at the front against any and all, To ensure for all time that this flag will not fall.'

' So go back inside,' he said, 'harbor no fright, Your family is waiting and I'll be all right.' 'But isn't there something I can do, at the least, 'Give you money,' I asked, 'or prepare you a feast? It seems all too little for all that you've done, For being away from your wife and your son.'

Then his eye welled a tear that held no regret, 'Just tell us you love us, and never forget. To fight for our rights back at home while we're gone, To stand your own watch, no matter how long. For when we come home, either standing or dead, To know you remember we fought and we bled. Is payment enough, and with that we will trust, That we mattered to you as you mattered to us.'

PLEASE, would you do me the kind favor of sending this to as many people as you can? Christmas will be coming soon and some credit is due to our U.S service men and women for our being able to celebrate these festivities. Let's try in this small way to pay a tiny bit of what we owe. Make people stop and think of our heroes, living and dead, who sacrificed themselves for us.

I hope you all had a WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING!!! We were glad to be home after Thanksgiving and put up our CHRISTMAS TREE!!!!! I love Christmas!!

In case you were wondering what I have been up to...Christy Skaggs (who I am doing CT work for) surprised us girls with a mini-kit that was named each one of us! So Sweet of her!!! It was so amazing to watch President Obama give his speech last night!!! I am very excited to see what he can accomplish in his term!

Ok, now here we go...I got a couple more pages done and I really like them. If I don't hurry up and get to scrappin' I am going to run out of pages to post and then I would have to type more. No Thank You!!! LOL I think pictures speaks much better than I.

Good Morning,

Well the beautiful weather is gone today and has been replaced by RAIN!!! I am not thrilled about rain, especially when the kids have to walk to school. Today is a house cleaning day for me. It really shouldn't take too long, then I can get back to scrapping:) Yesterday I did several pages but I thought I would only post two for you to see. That way you are not to overwhelmed.
I got one of the probably many Halloween pages completed and I really like it:) I also finished a Memories page from Kassi's graduation party. I think this will be a keepsake for her. OK, off I go to do my Daily Downloads and then clean. Have a WONDERFUL day. I hope it is sunny where you are.

Good Morning All,

I wanted to let you know I had much too busy of a day to even think I was going to get to scrapbook on Saturday. We had a great time with everyone here for our son's birthday party. We had 13 people for dinner!!! National Scrap-booking Day I didn't get to participate in much until about 9:30 pm and only hit one blog train, but that was OK I was a bit brain dead anyway. Yesterday, we got up entirely too early with daylight savings time. So, we watched 2 movies together as a family then went for a 4 mile walk after that was playing American Girl dolls with our daughter and painting fingernails and toenail. I was able to scrapbook a little in between times and then was still needing to catch up on sleep. I did get a couple of pages finished, so I will stop this typing and get to posting!!!

~ NATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING DAY~

It is actually our sons 14th BIRTHDAY TODAY TOO!!!! What a party day:) I can't even believe he is 14. It seemed like yesterday I was in the hospital having him (tear). However, I am so proud of the man he is becoming and thank God he still loves his Mama. LOL The kids all had FUN yesterday with their school parties, pumpkin carving, costumes, haunted house, and trick-or-treating!!! The weather was very nice for trick-or-treating this year. We actually ran out of candy and had to shut the light off!!! Kids were coming in swarms of 7-10 at a time. CRAZY!!! Today is Alex's birthday party and most of the family will be here. I will post some pictures later today of the kids in their costumes and of us carving our pumpkins, maybe I will be able to get them scrapbooked first:) Have a SUPER FUN DAY SCRAPBOOKING!!! Today will be a very CRAZY day for me:) With class parties, carving pumpkins (running a little late on this one. oops), getting everyone in their costumes, Trick-or-Treating, and getting ready for our son to turn 14 tomorrow...it makes for a very BUSY day!!! So, I wish you all a very FUN and SAFE Halloween!

~Well Here It Is...~

Good Morning Everyone!!! I watched the most beautiful sunrise this morning:) I should have taken a picture! darn it!!! But the picture would never be as beautiful as what our eyes see. The weather is crisp today and not as foggy as yesterday. I LOVE FALL!!!!! Yesterday, my friend came over with her BEAUTIFUL baby boy. He is 12 weeks right now and was so full of smiles and coos. BABY FEVER!!!! I took a bunch of pictures of him and plan to make her a scrapbook page today.

This is my FIRST page from the kit GOING COCONUTS!!!! What a FUN kit. This is one of the kits I am working with for the CT Team of "Oops I Scrapped My Pants". I am a CT Member for another designer!!! Yes, that is two now:) Can you believe it??? I am so excited!!!!! I am the newest CT Member for Emily Farnworth. She is the owner and designer for a NEW store that is opening on WEDNESDAY! Her store name is "Oops I Scrapped My Pants". She is so nice and funny! Obviously by the name of her store, right? I linked the store name, so you should go check it out. I will be posting some pages as soon as I finish them from her "Going Coconuts Kit"

Good Morning:) I was so excited and wanted to give you an update: I found out yesterday that I am not just a Guest CT after all (well, I could have been but then...), they asked me to be a permanent CT!!! Which is a 4 month commitment, then if Christy Skaggs likes my work she can let me know that she would like to keep me on!!!!!!!!! AAAAHHHHHH!!! I am slightly overwhelmed but OH so excited!!!
The weather here is so beautiful right now (maybe it is just my excited perspective, LOL), the sun is shining and it is ever so crisp! I have a day today to just get my layouts completed and then I will run my head off this evening with kids:) All is well in my little world, hope your is too:)

OK, so here is the biggest news yet for me...well, besides marriage and children...!!! I have just been chosen to be a Creative Team Member or for short CT Member, for Christy Skaggs at Go Digital Scrapbooking!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited!!! It is just a temporary position and I am not sure how long that is or if it will work out to be long term. Either way I am excited to be a CT Member for her. I have used her kits so much in my digital scrapbooking:) I made her name a hyperlink, so go ahead and click it to go check out all of her stuff!!!
